Your network account grants you access to Office 365, your college email (firstname.lastname@cambriancollege.ca), Zoom, the Cambrian Wi-Fi, the computers and printing on-site.
Your default password is your date of birth in the following format: MMDDYY (just the last two digits of the year). Before using your network account to print or access the wi-fi you must sign into a computer on-site or https://portal.office.com and update your default password.
Please note that your network password expires every 180 days.
If you require a password reset please give the Service Desk a call at 705-566-8101 x7370, the answering technician will verify your identity and reset your password, alternately you can log a ticket with a call back number to have a technician reach out. In an effort to protect your information we do not to reset passwords over email.
How to reset your network account on campus:
For resetting an expired password while on site with your computer:
- Press Ctrl + Alt + Del
- Select Change Password from the list of options
- Input your Old password (the one that has expired) and select a new password by entering it in the New password and Confirm password then either press Enter or click on the right facing arrow.
- Close and re-open your applications such as Skype for Business, Outlook, Zoom, etc so they can use your new password. Alternatively, you can restart your computer once your password has been reset to restart your applications.
Off Campus Password Expiry Reset (Cambrian Computer):
For resetting an expired password while off site with a Cambrian Computer.
- Navigate to https://portal.office.com/ and sign in with your full Cambrian College email address.
- Input your current password and you will be prompted to choose a new one.
- You may be asked to update a second form of authentication so you can use self service password reset.
Make sure that you have 1 of the 3 setup so you do not lose access to your account.
- After setting your new password sign into the Cisco Anyconnect VPN with your usual user name and new password.
- Lock your computer by selecting your name from the start menu or holding the Windows Key and pressing L
OR
- Sign back in using your new password.
- Close and re-open your applications such as Skype for Business, Outlook, Zoom, etc so they can use your new password. Alternatively, you can restart your computer once your password has been reset to restart your applications.
Off Campus Password Expiry Reset (Personal Device):
For resetting an expired password while off site with a personal device.
- Navigate to https://portal.office.com/ and sign in with your full Cambrian College email address.
- Input your current password and you will be prompted to choose a new one.
- You may be asked to update a second form of authentication so you can use self service password reset.
Make sure that you have 1 of the 3 setup so you do not lose access to your account.
- Access your emails through your normal method using the new password. Either through your mobile device, personal client, out Outlook Web Access https://outlook.cambriancollege.ca/owa/
- Remember when on site you will be using your new password for computer and wifi access.
