Fixing the Copied Quiz Error

When a quiz that has Respondus LockDown Browser enabled is copied from one Moodle course shell to another, the Respondus settings do not carry over automatically. As a result, instructors and students may see the following error message:

You can fix this issue by following the steps below:

  1. Go to your Moodle course where the quiz was copied.

  2. In the main course page, click on  Respondus LockDown Browser Dashboard.
    (You’ll find this in the left-side menu)

  3. Look for the affected quiz in the list. It will likely show an error.

  4. Click the dropdown arrow beside the quiz name.

  5. Select "Settings" for the quiz.

  6. Change the setting from "Require LockDown Browser" to "Don't require", then Save + Close.

  7. Re-open the settings and re-enable LockDown Browser, then Save + Close again. Note: do this step only if you want Respondus enabled.
