Instructors can use restrictions to control access to activities. This guide explains how to restrict a test so that only one specific user can write or review it.
Steps to Restrict Access to a Single User
- Navigate to the Test Activity:
- Go to your course page.
- Click on the test you want to restrict.
- Select Edit settings from the activity menu.
- Set Up Restriction Based on User Email:
- Scroll down to the Restrict access section and click Add restriction.

- We recommend you choose User profile. However, you may select which ever restriction best suits your case.

- In the first dropdown, select Email address.

- In the text field, enter the student’s email address (ensure it matches the one used in Moodle).
- Click Save changes.
Adjusting Visibility
By default, other students will see the test listed but won’t be able to access it.

- Click the eye icon next to the restriction:
- Open eye: Other students can see the test but cannot access it.
- Closed eye: The test is completely hidden from all except the selected student.
- Choose the setting that best fits your needs.
