If you are having trouble accessing the library databases while off campus, here are some things that might help to correct the issue:
- Ensure that you are an active student/staff/faculty member. Only active status, registered Cambrian community members can access the databases due to licensing restrictions. At the beginning of a semester, it can sometimes take a few days before we have the updated active accounts in our system.
- Verify that you are using the correct ID number. For students, this should be your student ID beginning with “A00”. For staff/faculty, this will be your 6-digit employee ID.
If you have met these conditions and you are receiving an error while trying to log in to the databases, try troubleshooting with the following steps:
- Clear your browser cache and cookies. Close your browser, then restart it and try your search again OR
- Use the Google Chrome incognito mode, OR
- Try a different browser, i.e. Firefox
If you have tried these fixes and still cannot log into the databases, please contact the Library at library@cambriancollege.ca and provide your student ID and details about the databases you are accessing and the error you are encountering.
