Schedule a Teams Meeting

There are several ways to schedule a Teams Meeting. Click the accordion below to explore your options, our recommended method is using the Meet app in Teams.

From the Meet App in Teams

From the Calendar App in Teams

  1. Launch the Teams app on your computer.
  2. From the left-hand menu, select CalendarScreenshot of the calendar button in Teams

  4. Enter a descriptive Title.
  5. Toggle the Teams meeting button to on so that an online meeting link is created. 
  6. Enter the date and time of your first class.

  9. Click Save.
  10. If you are scheduling a class that occurs multiple times a week, the following steps will ensure that both sessions will use the same Meeting link:
  11. Go to your calendar, right-click the meeting you just create, and select Duplicate event. Screenshot of the right click options in teams with the Duplicate event circled.
  12. Change the date and time to match your second session.
  13. Make it a reoccurring meeting.
  14. Click Save.
  15. Click Save again to schedule your meeting.

From the Outlook Calendar

  1. Launch the Outlook app on your computer.
  2. Select the Calendar icon from the navigation bar in Outlook. Screenshot of the calendar button in Outlook.

  4. Enter a descriptive Title.

  7. Set the Appointment time to the start time of your first class.

  8. Set the Recurrence pattern to once a week and choose the day your first class takes place.

  9. Set the Recurrence range so it starts on the date of your first class and ends on the date of your last class.

  10. Click OK to save the settings.

  11. Click Send to Save your meeting

  12. If you are scheduling a class that occurs multiple times a week, the following steps will ensure that both sessions will use the same Meeting link:
  13. Copy the Meeting info in the body of your appointment. 
  14. Create a New Appointment (not a Teams meeting).A screenshot of the New Appointment button in Outlook.
  15. Paste the Teams meeting info into your new appointment. 
  16. Repeat steps 4 to 11.
  17. Go back into the appointment you just created and right click the Join the meeting now link.
