User overrides in Moodle allow instructors to grant special accommodations for individual students or groups in activities such as quizzes and assignments. Steps to Set a User Override
- Navigate to the Quiz
- Go to your course page and click on the activity you want to modify.
- Access the Overrides Settings
- Select Overrides from the Quiz Administration menu.

- If you don’t see the Quiz Administration menu click the arrow at the top right of your screen.

- Add a New Override
- Click the Add user override button.
- Configure Override Options
- Select a Student: Use the dropdown menu to choose the student who needs the override. You can search by name.
- Adjust the Allowed Attempts: Change the number of attempts permitted if necessary.
- Set a Different Time Limit: Modify the time limit (if the quiz has a time restriction).
- Change Availability Dates: Adjust the quiz open and close dates for the selected student.
- Save the Override
- Click Save or Save and enter another override if you need to add multiple user overrides.
Steps to Set a Group Override
- Follow the same steps above, but instead of User Overrides, select Group Overrides in the override settings.

- Choose the appropriate group from the dropdown list.
- Apply the necessary changes to time limits, attempt numbers, or availability.
- Click Save.
