YuJa Panorama is a powerful tool integrated into Moodle to help you improve the accessibility of your course content. It provides insights into the accessibility of your materials and generates alternative formats for students.
Step 1: Review the Accessibility of Course Content
Log into Moodle and navigate to your course.
YuJa Panorama automatically analyzes the accessibility of uploaded course materials (e.g., PDFs, Word documents, PowerPoint files, Excel spreadsheets)
Find Accessibility Indicators:
Beside each file, you’ll see a circular Accessibility Score Indicator:
- Green: High accessibility.
- Yellow: Moderate accessibility.
- Red: Low accessibility.

- Severe Issues (0-30%): Documents have accessibility barriers that significantly impact users, like missing alternative text for essential images.
- Major Issues (30-70%): Documents may have improper headings or other formatting issues, affecting navigation.
- Minor Issues (70-100%): Documents need smaller adjustments, like font size consistency.
Click the Indicator: To view specific feedback on the file and suggestions for improvement.
Step 2: Improve File Accessibility
Open the Accessibility Report for a specific file.
Follow the provided suggestions to fix accessibility issues, such as:
- Adding alt text to images.
- Using proper heading structures.
- Ensuring sufficient color contrast.
Update the original file and re-upload it to Moodle by clicking the three dots next to the Accessibility Score and selecting Download Source File.
