Outlook - Re-Creating Outlook Profile

Use this article to recreate your outlook profile. This can help resolve a number of issues with your local Outlook client including mis-synced items, alerts not popping up, or inability to access shared or departmental mailboxes. For best results if you are working off site please make sure you are connected to the VPN before doing this and ensure Outlook is closed.

  1. Open the start menu and type Control , then open the Control Panel.


     
  2. In the Control Panel search for mail and open up Mail (Microsoft Outlook)


     
  3. Click on Show Profiles... 


     
  4. Click on Add... Name the profile whatever you would like (example: your name, email, outlook, etc...) and the click on Ok


     
  5. Follow through the defaults, inputting your network password when prompted. Select Finish to complete the setup. 



     
  6. Then in the new menu select "Always use this profile" and pick your new profile that you named above. In this example we named it Email


     
  7. Click on OK then re-open Outlook.
